Use of Force w/ Jeff Chudwin / Default service
May 14,2022
This course is invaluable if you own a firearm for home defense or concealed carry. It is a rare opportunity to receive this kind of training. If you’ve never had formal self-defense training or, if you’ve been through basic or concealed carry training, you may still have questions about the issues of lawful and justifiable use of force. This class is designed to address a number of those issues. This class is not legal advice but is a general review of the law in the State of Illinois and consideration of past and current self-defense cases, along with potential everyday scenarios.

Jeff Chudwin served 38 years and retired as the Chief of Police for the Village of Olympia Fields IL. A graduate of DePaul University Law School, he served as an Assistant States Attorney and later as counsel for officers and citizens involved in use of force incidents. A competitive shooter of over 35 years, he holds numerous instructor and armorer certifications and designed and instructs law enforcement training courses including; Lawful and Justifiable Use of Force, basic patrol rifle, patrol rifle instructor, designated marksman/advanced patrol rifle, 40 Hours State of Illinois Firearms Instructor, Firearms Instructor Update, Close Quarter Pistol Series, AR-15/M-16/M-4 Rifle-Carbine and 1911 Handgun armorer courses for MTU’s state wide.
Combining his experience as an attorney, prosecutor, and career peace officer, he has presented at conferences nationwide regarding police use of force, firearms training, patrol functions, and tactical operations. He has appeared on Guns and Ammo Television and has authored numerous articles for firearms and law enforcement publications on the issues of police/citizen use of force, firearms training, and personal safety.
Chief Chudwin deployed to Louisiana days after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans as part of the law enforcement mutual aid request as part of Task Force Illinois. As a result of what he witnessed, he writes on matters of individual and community preparedness for emergency events.
