Phase 2:

Students will first go to Rink’s in Lockport to qualify and then to TSI for the classroom portion. You will receive an email a few days before class notifying you of your time to arrive at Rink’s.

For the range qualification - Participants do not need to bring a concealment holster to class. You will not be drawing from a concealment position at the range. Students must score a minimum of 70% to pass. You will be shooting 10 rounds at 5 yards, 10 rounds at 7 yards, and 10 rounds at 10 yards. We will be using a B-27 Silhouette target. You will need 21 hits out of 30 rounds in the black portion of the silhouette. The B-27 target will be provided by Tactical Security Institute.

Students will need to bring a firearm (if you have one) and at least 30 rounds of ammunition (you can share your firearm with others in your group if you choose but cannot be in the same firing line at the range) for qualification. There is not a minimum or maximum caliber required for qualification (you are not required to qualify with the firearm that you will be carrying). We encourage participants to bring 3 magazines with 10 rounds loaded in each. Please do not bring a single action only revolver. Participants must have eye and ear protection and pay the $10 range fee (eye and ear protection may be available at the range for a small fee).

Immediately following the range qualification, students will go to TSI for the classroom portion. Your firearm and ammunition are NOT allowed into the classroom, leave them locked in your vehicle. Lunch will be provided.

This course provides 8 hours of training towards the Illinois 16 hour training requirement. It will focus on State and Federal law consisting of storage, carrying, and transportation of a firearm. This course will also focus a large portion on Use of Force. Students are encouraged to take notes. If this is your last class to fulfill your 16 hours of training for the Illinois CCW, Illinois Livescan Fingerprinting will be provided for $40.

Illinois Live Scan Electronic Fingerprinting:

IF YOU ARE TAKING AN UPCOMING CLASS, FINGERPRINTING WILL BE AVAILABLE IN CLASS.

In most of our classes, and always in the Phase 2 class, we offer the Illinois electronic live scan fingerprinting during class. This is optional for the Illinois CCW application. We recommend getting the fingerprints because it will not only avoid the 30 day processing delay, but your application background check will be based on your fingerprints rather than just your name. This is especially significant if you have a common name. The cost to Illinois CCW students for the Illinois CCW Permit fingerprints is $40. We offer the fingerprinting for a wide range of professions, not just the Illinois CCW.

Illinois CCW Phase 1:

Doors will open at 7:45am, registration will be from 7:45-8:00 and class will be from 8:00am-4:00pm. If you have not already paid for the class you can pay during registration - we accept cash, checks and credit cards. Lunch will be provided. Do NOT bring a firearm or ammunition into the classroom. This course provides 8 hours of classroom training towards the Illinois 16 hour training requirement. It will focus on the Illinois Concealed Carry required curriculum which consists of shooting fundamentals such as grip, stance, breath control, sight alignment, and trigger pull. Nomenclature, care, cleaning, loading and unloading of a firearm, firearm safety rules, basic handgun operation, and handling of the firearm as well as transporting and storing a firearm are all covered. Students are encouraged to take notes. If you have already taken Phase 2, Illinois Livescan Fingerprinting will be provided for $40.

This course will start with a classroom portion and then students will go to Rink’s for range practice after lunch. Lunch will be provided. Registration in the classroom in Mokena will be from 7:45-8:00am. If you have not paid online we will accept cash, checks or credit cards during registration.
The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. Students learn the NRA rules for: safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the two handed and one handed standing positions; and cleaning the pistol. Do NOT bring a firearm or ammunition into the classroom, leave it locked in your vehicle. Students will need to bring a pen and note taking material. For the range, students should bring their firearm (if you have one), one box of ammunition (Minimum caliber of 9mm for semi-autos and 38 for revolver), and eye and ear protection. These items can be rented at the range for a minimal fee. We have several firearms that may be used by the students at no charge. Students will be required to pay the $10 range fee.

Illinois Live Scan Electronic Fingerprinting:

This is a 4 hour class that focuses on the Utah curriculum covering firearm safety, firearm storage, the concealed carry laws, use of deadly force and more. There is no range qualification for this class - do not bring a firearm or ammunition to class. We will supply you with all required materials including application, photo, ink fingerprints and instructions to obtain the Utah permit. This is the most valuable multi-state CCW permit available based on recognition from other states and total cost as it is valid in over 30 States! This class also gives 4 hours of credit towards the Illinois CCW. Doors will open at 7:45am, registration will be from 7:45-8:00 and class will be from 8:00am-noon. If you have not already paid for the class you can pay during registration - we accept cash, checks and credit cards.

Illinois CCW Phase 1B:

This course will give 4 hours of the Illinois 16 hour requirement and was designed specifically for those students who already have 4 hours of credit via a Utah CCW, or Illinois Hunter Safety Card, or another state approved 4 hour credit. It will focus on the Illinois Concealed Carry training curriculum which consists of shooting fundamentals such as grip, stance, breath control, sight alignment, and trigger pill. Nomenclature, care, cleaning, loading and unloading of a firearm are covered. The permit application and renewal process as well as denial criteria are reviewed. There is no range qualification for this class - do not bring a firearm or ammunition to class. Students are encouraged to take notes.

Utah CCW:

This is a 4 hour class that focuses on the Utah curriculum covering firearm safety, firearm storage, the concealed carry laws, use of deadly force and more. There is no range qualification for this class - do not bring a firearm or ammunition to class. We will supply you with all required materials including application, photo, ink fingerprints and instructions to obtain the Utah permit. This is the most valuable multi-state CCW permit available based on recognition from other states and total cost as it is valid in over 30 States!
